The Pure IAQ HEPA 1500/2500 whole home HEPA air cleaning system is designed to remove 99.97% of atmospheric and household dust. The true HEPA air cleaner will remove particulate down to .3 of a micron on the first pass. A HEPA filter actually gets better with age, it becomes more efficient as it gets dirty and can capture particles as small as .001 micron.

This system is ideal for those who want the best dust control or suffer from asthma, allergies or other respiratory illness. Small dust particles not visible to the naked eye are the ones we need to be most concerned with. The small particles are easier to inhale and absorb making them the most dangerous. Most standard “furnace filter systems” don’t effectively remove particles this small. It’s like trying to catch water in a bucket full of holes.

The Pure IAQ HEPA 1500/2500 whole home HEPA system does not just stop dust and particulate, it also has two other levels of filtration:

• Activated carbon pre-filter removes lint, larger particles and odours as well helps extend the life of the HEPA filter
• Carbon VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) after filter removes additional odours and some chemical off gases.

This makes the Pure IAQ whole home HEPA a true three stage filtration system.

Whole home HEPA bypass filters were invented for the simple reason that there is no filter media capable of capturing what HEPA can. All furnace duct mounted systems have to allow enough air through them so the furnace can operate to its full efficiency.

This limits the kind of media that can be used, because the finer the dust you are trying to capture the more restrictive the media you need. If for example you put a HEPA filter into the furnace system you would lower the efficiency and probably burn out the motor.

The HEPA system can be combined with one of our three duct installed filter systems- MERV 11 media, MERV 16 media or an electronic air cleaner. Choosing one of these in conjunction with a whole hone HEPA will create the ultimate in home air purification.

How it Works

Millions of airborne particulates and gases travel through the heating/cooling system 4-5 times every hour.

The HEPA Air Cleaner connects to the return air duct and diverts 1/3 to 1/2 of this dirty air through a tightly sealed 3-stage filtration system. A home can reach as many as 67 whole-house air changes/day depending on the house size and model chosen. And when a High Efficiency Electronic or Media Air Cleaner is added to the return air, the home can achieve 96+ whole-house air changes/day (with system fan on continuous).
